A short tribute to the jazz bandleader Cab Calloway, with Kissk playing him in a performance built on his stage presence rather than an impersonation of it.

Filmed in the spirit of a 1930s jazz club: shadow, rhythm, and character doing the work that a period set dressing usually gets asked to do.

One performer, two characters, one table. Kissk plays both a young man under pressure and the older figure sitting across from him.

Each character was filmed separately, with the angles and lighting on the second pass built to match the first. The edit brings the two halves into a single conversation, so what plays as one continuous exchange never happened in the room.

At first the silence reads as freedom. He walks a city that has stopped asking him for anything. Then the stillness turns into isolation, and the power to stop time stops being worth having.
